Abstract
Every month I am tasked with selecting articles to receive the label of "Editor's Choice" (EC), ensuring that the article is free to access forever. The goal is to highlight material that may not be easily available elsewhere or that provides an update to a hot topic.(1) In some cases these EC choices are accompanied by an editorial. Does this mean greater attention will be paid to EC articles as measured in terms of downloads?. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
