Abstract
With the increasingly rigorous standards and curriculum, students struggle to reach grade level proficiency. When students struggle to maintain the faster pace of instruction, many resort to disengaged behaviors which affect the overall classroom climate and the effectiveness of teaching and learning. The purpose of this research project is to seek effective strategies to create and maintain a learning environment where students are more fully engaged in the learning process. Whole Brain Teaching Strategies will be implemented during instruction and classroom management practices to engage multiple parts of the brain to examine its effect on student engagement and success.
