Abstract
The purpose of the investigation was to determine the effectiveness of the use of response cards as a strategy to teach traffic sign recognition to young adults with learning disabilities. The primary research question was as follows: How effective is the use of response cards as a strategy to teach traffic sign recognition to young adults with moderate to severe disabilities? This experimental study utilized response cards. As a teaching strategy, response cards were used to teach traffic signs to young adults with moderate to severe disabilities. It took place over two quarters in an urban-county school district. The results indicate that students increased their ability to recognize traffic signs via the usage of response cards.
