Abstract
As websites became important teaching and classroom tools, so social media is introducing a new wave of educational tools and classroom portals. Some school districts struggled with the legal and policy implications of social media, while others moved forward expansively tapping into the reality that many primary grade students and their parents use social media regularly to conduct all aspects of their lives. Social media came into American workplaces and will come into local schools. The purpose of this handbook was to outline a conservative and manageable approach to incorporating Facebook into a primary grade (K-3) environment.
