Abstract

Struggling readers need to be motivated in a positive way to choose to read. This study used e-readers as a way to engage students in reading. A classroom of 21 students were introduced to four e-reader programs over four weeks. Qualitative data was collected from students through surveys, interviews and observations. The results showed e-readers to have a possible positive motivational influence on struggling readers.
